Thanksgiving 2008 at the Champlins

Thanksgiving started with a trip to the shooting range for Pat, Erin and Jack. There the trio shot skeet, .22 and .357 pistols and a 30-06. It was quite exhilarating as both Pat and Erin successfully shot skeets. Jack looked like he had done this before. Pat and Jack exhibited razor sharpness with the hand guns. The Jeffreys showed up for lunch on Thursday. Jack also joined us. It was all delicious. After the feast we watched the Dallas Cowboys continue their march to the Super Bowl in a convincing massacre of the Seahawks. After dinner we showed our stupidity in a trivial pursuit game won by the Jeffreys. Drew and Lauren showed up Friday and we did it all over again. We dumbed down the trivial pursuit game and regained our confidence. The Jeffreys won again but only after holding off a late charge by Pat and Lisa. On Saturday morning we all gathered for breakfast before Drew and Lauren headed back to Dothan. Saturday afternoon we watched as the Crimson Tide completely demolished the Auburn Tigers. The Crimson Tide is marching towards their 13th national title. There was no other football worth talking about this weekend.

Here is a picture of Lisa preparing the turkey:

These are some of the flowers out back that Lisa grows.

This is the turkey shortly after it came out of the oven.

Here Debbie and Lisa finish cleaning up the kitchen after a meal. They are good help in the kitchen.

Here are some folks sleeping and watching TV. Some people could not keep their eyes open no matter how hard they tried.

Here is David making no effort to stay awake.

Halle has pretty eyes. You would not think she bites but she does if you are bending over with Kleenex in your hand.

Hope everyone else had a Happy Thanksgiving. We will see you at Christmas. Be sure and look your best as Santa is bringing Pat a movie camera.
