Pat, Lisa and Erin drove over to Madison on Christmas Eve and checked into the Hilton Garden Inn. We planned to attend a Presbyterian service but Erin was sick and it was raining pretty hard so we skipped that. We went to aunt Mari Scott's house early. There were the the Scott's, Joanna, The John Champlin's, The Steve and Joe Champlin, The Paxton Littles and the Jim Champlin. We had loads of appetizers including curried chicken kabobs, cheese ball, soft fudge and fruit cookies followed by chicken and sausage gumbo. We woke up Christmas morning and Pat and Lisa went to the fitness center and worked out. Then we went back to the Scotts and the same folks were there. We gathered in the kitchen while aunt Mari finished cooking the lunch. Erin and Joanna peeled potatos. Pat and Lisa munched. After we ate, we opened gifts. We headed over to the Jeffreys around 3PM just in time to see Doodles and Phil Ferris and Betty Brown. They left after a brief visit. Then we opened gifts. Then Pat Jeffreys showed up and we had dinner. After visiting for a while we went back to the hotel. On Friday morning David Jeffreys picked Pat up and they met the Scotts at Whisper Lake golf course for a round of golf. Lisa and Erin went shopping. They were somewhat successful. Pat played dreadful golf except for the last hole which he parred. The two Davids played well. After golf, Pat and David Jeffreys went to the Jeffreys house and had lunch. Geoff Jeffreys brought his girlfriend Paige to lunch. We caught a glimpse of Nick that day also. After lunch, Pat went back to the hotel and took a nap. That evening we returned to the Scotts for heavy appetizers and dinner. We had cheese ball, grape leaves, stuffed mushrooms and mushy fudge and fruit cookies followed by ham and asparagus and leftovers from the previous day. We then played a board game called cranium. Pat, Lisa and Elisabeth formed a team that dominated the game from start to finish. We then went back to the hotel for the night. Pat woke up around 4am with abdominal distress. Lisa had to drive most of the way back to Tuscaloosa. Here are some pictures of the festivities.
