Midland, Texas..the Tall City

Looks like the Champlins are moving to Midland, TX. Midland is home to Chevron's Permian Basin operations. They just celebrated producing their 50,000,000,000th (fifty billionth) barrel of oil from the Permian Basin. I'll bet the employees got some nice bling for that. We got a nice mantle clock for production records at the mine in 2001. Midland has over 300 days of sunshine every year. The elevation is 2800 feet so golf balls should go further. The low tonight will be in the 30s, the high tomorrow will be in the 70s. A few weeks ago it was 12 degrees one day. The other day they had blowing dust. But it is close to Santa Fe and Taos. And the Dallas Cowboys. George and Barbara Bush used to live there. George was a landman. Click on this for a map of Midland in case you want to come see us.

Here are some pictures I took of Midland back in December.

This is the Chevron office.

I did not see any tumbleweeds while in Midland but I know they have them. They also have a minor league hockey team.
