Celebrate We Did!
So we took a nap and headed back to Deer Creek for night 2 about 4PM. We stopped and picked up some subways for dinner. We got to our parking spot and opened the back of the pathfinder to set up our tailgate. The lady that parked next to us asked if we’d really driven all the way from Alabama. She said her father taught at Alabama in the 60s and she had family in Montgomery. Some dudes pulled in behind her, they had a BAMA plate on the front of their red blazer. One guy said he’d grown up in Cottondale and played football at Alabama from 96-99. They offered us hamburgers. What a small world. Everybody else was from Indiana.
We found out the bean bag tossing game is called corn hole.
We walked into the show and it was a fabulous show, much better than night one and even better than Denver in 06. It was rated 4 1/2 stars on a scale of 5 at the antsmarching.org web site. All of the songs played were some of our favorites. The only glitch in the night was when some idiot spilled beer on the back of Pat’s legs. After the show, we waited in the parking lot for traffic to thin out before heading back to the hotel. We also ate alot of kettle corn at this time. So you might not get any.
We got up and hit the road about 8:30AM. It was a smooth trip till we got busted in Louisville for speeding.
There was a tie for 1st place in the blog reader contest. The winners are Mari, Debbie and Erin. The winners will get a bootleg copy of the new Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live 2 CD set. Its awesome. If anyone else wants a copy, just ask.
Lisa's favorite part of the trip was night 2. Pat's favorite part of the trip was also night 2. That’s all for now. We go to Taos on September 27.
