Day 1, Friday

We woke up around 8:30. Pat went to McDonalds and got some sausage mcgrillers and coffee for breakfast. We went to the grocery store to stock up for the week. As we left, we noticed our neighbors had a goat hanging upside down from a tree right next to the road. At the grocery store we saw a lady with a tatoo on her forehead. We came back to the casita and ate sandwiches for lunch. The day was forcast to be cloudy and with threats of rain. We decided to ride out to the Rio Grande River Gorge Bridge. Due to the weather we just snapped a picture of it. We'll go back on a better day. We came back to town and stopped at the Overland Sheep Company. After that we stopped at the Taos Arts & Crafts Show. There were about 30-40 vendors there. Artsy stuff and crowd. Then we came back to the room and snoozed. Pat had mild altitude sickness. We had 6 PM reservations at Graham's Grill ( http://www.grahamsgrille.com/ ). We left around 5:15, the goat was now skinned, and drove up to the plaza and parked. We walked around and then went to the grill. Lisa had corn and crab chowder and salad; Pat selected jambalaya. For desert, Lisa had Lemon Raspberry Tart; Pat had Truly Decadent Chocolate Cream Pie. The couple next to us were from Hunstville, Alabama. We planned to hop in the hot tub, but we had a good bit of thunder, lightning and rain so we have to put that off till the next night. Our dog ran away so we don't have to think of a name for it. There is a rotweiller next door and some pit bulls down the road, so maybe we'll get a new dog soon.
