2007 Christmas

Pat, Lisa and Erin went to Madison, MS for Christmas. We drove over on Christmas Eve and checked into the Hilton in Madison. We spent Christmas Eve at the home of Mari and David Scott. For dinner, the Scott's served roasted chicken, broccoli, a dressing that had sausage, apples and cranberries. Lots of fudge and stuff also. Beth Champlin brought along her fiance, Paxton Little. They make a fine couple and we look forward to attending their wedding in June. Before the night ended, we screened Pat's movie.

We had breakfast on Christmas morning at the Hilton and then went back to the Scott's for gift exchanging and lunch. Lisa enjoyed playing the Wii machine with Elizabeth. For lunch we had turducken and assorted vegetables and dressing. It was all delicious. Desert included pumpkin pie, carrot cake and teramisu. We were all entertained by the new feral kitten, Ricky Bob. Lisa also played more Wii, excelling at bowling and tennis.

We went to the Jeffreys house for dinner. Just leaving the Jeffreys house were Doodles Ferris and Betty Brown, Lisa's aunt and cousin. We then exchange gifts with the Jeffreys. Geoff Jeffreys presented us with a beautiful pastel drawing similar to some of the scenery we saw on our Taos trip earlier in the year. We then stuffed ourselves with turkey, ham, potato casserole and other trimmings. We followed that with some more of Lisa's fabulous teramisu for desert. We then showed the Jeffreys Pat's movie.

On the 26th we again had breakfast at the Hilton. Lisa had a sore shoulder from the Wii machine. Pat went to the Scotts to prepare his award winning red beans and rice for the evening meal at the Scotts. Lisa and Erin went shopping and then we all met at the Jeffreys for lunch. Lisa's Aunt Kitty and cousins Lea and Elise drove down from the delta to visit. Pat ate and went back to the room to rest up. Before rejoining at the Scotts, Lisa and Erin stopped off at cousin Betty and Bill Brown's new house in Madison. They have just moved back to Mississippi from Arkansas. The beans and rice were exceptional. Lisa played more Wii. After eating, everyone insisted on watching Pat's movie again.

So we got on up and drove back to Tuscaloosa on the 27th. We really enjoyed the trip and appreciate all the work done by the Scotts and the Jeffreys in making this a memorable trip.

This is a picture of Pat and Erin at Aunt Mari's wedding. Pat has had this photo on his dresser top for several years. Erin snuck it out, scanned it, enlarged it and had it framed and gave it to Pat for Christmas. Nice.
