Christmas trip - 1st part

We drove to Madison, MS on December 19th.  We have found if we leave at 5am, the first part of the trip is more pleasant.  We got to Madison around 4PM.  After we got settled in we took Mari Scott and the two blond girls to dinner at Georgia Blue.

While Lisa was shopping on the 20th, I drove around some.  That night we celebrated David Jeffreys 58th birthday, eating some delicious rib roast and all the fixings.  And Katie brought some outstanding caramel cake.  I'm sure it had some wheat in it.

Hay bales in Madison County.

On December 21 we drove to Hoover, AL to see Drew and Lauren.  We stopped in Tuscaloosa and had lunch with some friends there at Moe's BQ.

That night we had dinner with Drew and Lauren at Firebirds.  It was tasty.

 Dog park in Hoover, AL.

Dalton and funny looking dog at dog park.

Champlins.

Look at those massive trees.

On the 22nd we had dinner at DoDiYos in Homewood.  A great Greek place.

We arrived in Charlotte on December 23rd.  We took Erin and Kris out to dinner at The Custom Shop. Good eats.  We had pork belly appetizer.  That is really just slab bacon.  We have noticed pork belly on several menus around here.  After dinner, Kris took us to 5Church for dessert.  We had some delicious desserts containing wheat.

In Charlotte, watching White Christmas on Christmas Eve afternoon.

We went to Christmas Eve service at Covenant Presbyterian Church.  That church is beautiful on the inside as well.

We had dinner at Napa on Providence.  Lisa had Hanger Steak, Pat had Halibut, Erin had this chicken dish.  She already ate part of it.  It was all very tasty.

We are now ready for Santa Claus to come see us.
