We did the annual garden tour this year. Beautiful day here in Midland, TX.
We liked the first one the best. It looked like the homeowner did most of the work.
We like this pergola. We have been thinking of adding something like it to our backyard landscape.
Nice yellow poppies.
Nice larkspur.
A mix of roses.
Their hoe house.
Note their water gathering system.
A nice blue bottle tree.
The second house came in third place. It seemed fake.
Here is an expensive looking water feature that looked out of place.
Note the fake pigs standing on the fake grass.
They did have a nice view of the lake but its fake too. There aren't any lakes in Midland.
That fake grass is hot on bare feet.
This is the front of the house. We heard the landscaper tell someone the total cost was 45k not including the fake turf. That was probable another 10-15K. I think it would have all looked better if the water feature had been positioned better and they had put in real sod.
This is the third house. It was probably a 2-3 million dollar house. We looked the owner up, he sold his company to Exxon not too long ago. This is a little water feature on the front of the house.
I could build this trellis in our back yard.
This is the house across the street. It's about half the size.
Entering the back yard.
And looking over to the left.
Flower beds along the fence.
We're studying pergolas.
The pool.
This is a little sitting pool on the side of the house.
And finally the garage.
