Dave Matthews Texas 2013 Tour

We made it to a couple Dave Matthews Band shows in Houston and Dallas.  First we drove to Houston last Wednesday and checked into the Hampton Inn in Cypress, TX.  Lots of traffic in that area.  We checked out and drove over to the Kingwood area.  Nice area.  We proceeded to the Woodlands Resort and got an early check in.  We just hung around the pool for awhile.  Thursday night we drove into the Houston Heights area and met some friends (my old boss from Denver) for dinner at Ruggels Green .  Very tasty and not what we normally get in Midland.  Pat tried the grilled grouper, Lisa sampled the Mahi Mahi.  After dinner we went to a bar, had dessert and listened to some live music.  It was a little hot and humid but there was a nice breeze.  So we went to the show Friday night after dinner at Schilleci's in the Woodlands.  We each had the seafood salad.  Very good and not found in Midland restaurants.  Great show.  One of the all time best.  So we got up Saturday, drove to Dallas and checked into the Magnolia Hotel.  We went to the venue at the fairgrounds and met up with a couple that we tailgated with last year.  We laughed for a couple hours and then went into the venue for the show.  Another good, good show.  We got up Sunday and drove back to purgatory.  We escape again in June for a trip to Indianapolis and two more DMB shows.

I enjoyed the hot, sticky feeling you get in the south.  My old boss said the air felt soft, compared to the dry air out west.

Here are some random pics from the trip.

This is a group shot with Leighton and Isabella.  They want to be like us when they get old.

If you tilt your screen you might be able to see this.

Lisa bought this T-shirt in Houston.

Dave introducing the opening act.  The crowd was thin at that time.  By the time Dave cranked up, the place was packed and rocking.

This is Karen, another DMB groupie we met in Houston in 2011.

Someone else took this picture of the blue bonnets a couple weeks before.
