So we drove the 6 hours to New Orleans on Wednesday for a couple nights with Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. Easy drive. We got there around 2 PM and checked into our room at the French Market Inn on Decatur Street. We went for a walk and took some pictures. It was cold in New Orleans, 40s and 50s each day, but beautiful blue skies and sunshine.
We had some of those French Donuts before we left. More on that on Day 3.
There were quite a few street bands playing.
We had a delicious dinner at Tujague's. Pat had pan seared redfish smothered in crab meat. Lisa had crab cakes and gumbo. For dessert Pat had their bread pudding, Lisa had grasshopper pie.
This is our whole room, it was small comfortable. The hotel is supposedly haunted. We heard some bad music that we did not know where it originated but don't know if ghosts had anything to do with it.
It was a great show despite the constant chatter in the audience. We rode a pedicab for part of the way to the show and rode one back to the room afterwards. The show was at the Saenger Theater. The theater had recently had a 50 million dollar renovation. It was a beautiful theater. Here we are at the show.
They can play those guitars. That is Dave on the right, Tim on the left.
Dave is taller than Tim. Dave is sitting down, Tim is standing up.
