Date night in Midland, Texas.

After two days of unpacking stuff and hanging curtains and such, we had a date.  It was hard to choose where we would eat, because when you really get down to it, there is not a big selection.  Its either Mexican or...nothing special...we wanted BBQ, but there are only three BBQ places in Midland and ones a fast food place.  So we decided to give KD's a try.  When you walk in the door, a guy asks "here or to go?"  We said here, he said get a tray and a piece of paper.  We complied with his instructions, put a sheet of paper on our trays and proceeded to the pit which was covered with a variety of meats.  There was brisket, pork chops, sausages, pork, chicken etc.  So you tell him what you want and he puts it on your paper and you then you give your tray to an oriental guy.  He slides your paper on to a scale and writes down your total, on your paper, right next to your meat selection.  Then you go through a line and choose your sides.  Then you pick which picnic table you want to sit at.  It was very tasty.  If you come visit us in Midland, you know you're going to eat at KD's.  Here are some pictures of the place.

Lisa cleaned her paper.  We know we live in Texas now.

This is a picture of KD's.  Those are some huge trees, aren't they.

After we ate, we drove around and saw this interesting looking cactus plant.

Nobody won the all expense paid trip to Midland including the two day package at 10000 Waves in Santa Fe.  We decided to put the pots here so we could put something in the bed beside them.
