Happy Mother's Day to all moms.

We are getting used to the regular birds now, but haven't identified them yet.  We hung a mesh seed bag from the tree out back which attracted mostly house finches.  There are alot of crows, blackbirds and cowbirds around.  Another we're not sure of is either a roadrunner or quail.  It has some tufted feathering on its head and it runs along the ground.  It may be the elusive prairie chicken.  Lots of dove and pigeons too.  One day we will visit one of the prairie dog towns and do a photographic essay.

Here is a picture of a red eyed blackbird.

Scissor-tailed fly catcher, aka Texas Bird-of-Paradise.

Lisa hanging hummingbird feeder.  There is only one species of the hummingbird east of the Mississippi.

We are able to relax on the back porch when the wind is not gusting at 30 mph.

Something unheard of has happened at the Champlin house.  After 32 years of marriage, and more double garages than I can count, we can fit both cars in the garage.

The master bedroom is mostly unpacked.

 So is the den.
And the kitchen-breakfast area.  In a couple weeks we will have a three day weekend picture hangin session.  Another fun weekend will be curtain hanging weekend.
