Ranch Days...chasing dirt devils.

This is the hottest summer since 1931 for Midland, TX.  But, they say we're in for a change in the weather pattern.  Its only going to be 92 next Sunday, the day before Labor Day.   Last night we ate dinner at the other Jorge's.  Might as well have had a Mexican TV dinner.  We are disappointed in the restaurant selection in Midland, so we are just going to quit sampling them.

We continue to meet more people at Sunday School.  We could be president of the class if we wanted.  That's what they tell us.  One lady has three nephews living in Jackson. Another was born in Natchez.

Lisa is frying some corn to go along with skillet okra and fried chicken Sunday night.

Halle is always hanging around the food.  Note the textured surface of the wall down to the right.  That's how the walls are around here.

We had Japanese from HEB for lunch on Saturday.  Excellent pot stickers.

Spicy tuna sushi and spring rolls.  Lisa said the spring rolls tasted funny.

After lunch we went looking for dirt devils.  Here is one coming through an industrial lot.  Those fence posts are at least 6 feet apart, so the devil is 50-60 feet wide.  Sometimes you'll see one that goes several hundred feet, if not  thousand feet into the sky.

Same devil.

We are headed back to Santa Fe on October 1.
