Leaving Taos

So, we got up and left Taos about 8am. These are some pictures taken south of town. This one looks west. That is Taos Mountain and the city of Taos under the clouds.

The gorge.

Albuquerque, taken from the site of the Sandia Peak tramway.

We planned to ride the tramway but didn't have time, there was a long line of folks waiting their turn. So instead, we did some more shopping. We got to the airport and checked in about 2pm for our 430 flight. Plenty of time for more shopping. Lisa made friends with one of the clerks. The flights were all on time and mostly smooth. On the long flight, from Denver to B'ham, we had a screaming and pooping baby sitting a couple rows in front of us. That was not as bad as the drunk couple sitting behind us. They were headed to the race in Talledega. They started the flight in love, got in a fight and ended up not speaking to each other, thankfully. We got home around midnight. Halle was thrilled to see us.

We enjoyed our trip to Taos. There are a lot of liberal wackos out there, but I guess they kind of add to the uniqueness of the town. There is so much to do out there we will have to go back next year. We want to complete the La Junta point hike and a couple hikes in the Taos Ski Valley, Bull of the Woods and Williams lake. The food was great and better than what we've eaten on our Colorado trips. Graham's Grill is run by a realtor who acts as the host and his wife is the chef. It was excellent both nights we ate there. Old Blinking Light was great and had a neat atmosphere. Prices were quite reasonable. The owners family ate dinner there each night we were there. The trip to 10000 waves was great. We need to open one of those in Tuscaloosa. We took over 400 photos on the trip.
Lisa's favorite part of the trip was scenery, eating, shopping. Pat's favorite part was scenery, 10000 waves and eating.
