The Love Apple
After a lunch of chopped nectarines, grapes, bananas, cantaloupe, cheese and crackers, we went to town and did some shopping. It was about 70 degrees and a few light sprinkles here and there. Due to the dry air, the rain drops evaporate shortly after landing on your skin, so its rather pleasant walking around in the rain. New Mexico is in their "Monsoon Season" or what we call down south, scattered thunder showers. For dinner we went to "The Love Apple". This is a new restaurant located in a small old church. For dinner, Lisa started of with a small salad. Her main course was something called "Spring Tonic Soup". It consisted of mixed greens, pureed, with lemon and tarragon, cooked and garnished creme fraiche. Sounds yummy. She didn't take a picture of it. Pat had trout, grilled in a corn husk, a fried potato patty with some green stuff on it. On the side was some lamb sausage. This food was all very tasty. For desert, Lisa had chocolate ganache tart, with whipped creme. Pat had a coconut custard with whipped creme. The place was small and packed and seemed to only have one waiter, so the service was terrible. Seemed to be full of liberal wackos too. After dinner we went for a short walk, but it was to cool for a walk, so we hopped in the car and drove out to the gorge. Tomorrow at 2 PM we will be at estrella massage getting a "Sage Brush".
