Hiking, shopping and eating

We had the last of the oatmeal for breakfast this morning. Then we drove out to the Taos Ski Valley to hike the Bull of the Woods trail. We walked about 40 minutes up the trail and could go no further because the trail was inundated by the river. There was a log crossing up river a ways but Lisa was to scared to cross it. So we scouted out the Williams Lake Trail. We're going to hike that in the morning. After that we came back to the adobe and ate another chopped fruit lunch. Then we went to town and shopped. We returned to the adobe and lounged around. For dinner we went to Pizanos. Then we drove down south of Taos and took some pictures of the gorge.

This picture is from the hike.

This is the creek we needed to cross. Lisa was scared to cross the log bridge.

Columbines.

Pat's dinner. Pizza with pesto, grilled chicken, artichokes and garlics on a spelt crust. Delicious.

Lisa had a salad of spinach, sun dried tomatoes, walnuts, goat cheese and marinated purple onions, topped with grilled chicken. It was doused with a chipotle lime vinaigrette.

We sat out on the deck looking at the mountains with a cool breeze.

The gorge has not changed much since last visit.

The blue door by St. Francis church.

Some trees I thought looked cool.

I bet if you had crossed that log first to show her how it was done she would have followed. Would love to see some pics Lisa took of that.

Lisa said she will try the bridge tomorrow. If she makes it, I'll get her to take a picture of me crossing it.
