Beetlejuice
We got to the Thrifty car rental agency and Curt talked with the agent for about 15 minutes and came out with some news. We originally thought we were going to rent a car for $60 USD for the whole week. Once we got there, Curt was informed that we would need to buy insurance and put a $1,000 hold on one of our credit cards during the whole week and that would be taken away if anything happened to the car. We worried we would lose it if even a scratch happened. None of us really like that idea, so Curt and Kris set of to try to find another price while Amanda and I sat under a porch and watched our bags because it was still raining. Kris came back about 20 minutes later with a smile and a sneaky look on his face. We knew something was brewing. We gathered our things and walked a couple of blocks and met a short Mexican gentlemen named Jose Luis standing with curt. He agreed to give us a car for the week for a way better price including insurance. He announced that the car would be there in 10 minutes. Shortly after, Jose Luis received a call on his cell phone and he and Curt took off running to go get the old jalopy. The rest of us three walked around the corner to see a 1960’s VW bug convertible happily waiting and running. The boys filled out some paperwork and a $100 deposit later, we were on our way; four americans piled to the brim with luggage, sweat and nostalgic elation.
